Apr 23, 2025 · Received a $1,309,537 grant and a $690,463 loan to minimize the presence of Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in finished water via treatment at the Franklin Treatment Well in Franklin Township. The project will include the construction of a new treatment facility that will maintain the permitted capacity of 60 gallons per minute (GPM) and will be located on the property of the existing Franklin Well Station. Equipment installation includes granular activated carbon (GAC) units, and two 5-foot diameter treatment vessels. The project will address health and safety concerns associated with Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) contamination. · —
