Apr 16, 2026 · This project consists of the installation of four (4) new granular activated carbon (GAC) pressure vessels each containing 40,000 pounds of F-300AR carbon media to remove perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and other volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the raw water of the District’s Wells 10 and 15. Additional work includes the construction/installation of a new treatment building, site piping, drainage modifications, instrumentation and controls integration, new pH adjustment treatment system, new 6,000 gallon underground sodium hydroxide storage tank, and a new post-treatment disinfection system. The project scope is further defined by the engineering report entitled, ″Wellhead Treatment for PFAS & VOCs at Well No. 10 & 15″, dated September 2023, revised August 2025, by H2M Architects + Engineers, as may be updated, amended, supplemented, and approved by the New York State Department of Health. · $3.19M
